The Lake Central High School boys’ football team competes in the fall sports season. Football is a team sport. Lake Central High School has a freshmen, JV and varsity team. The regular season begins in August and finishes mid-October with a guaranteed 10 game season. Post season play for the varsity team begins mid to late October with a sectional qualifying game toward the State championship.

Schedule
The Lake Central High School boys’ cross country team competes during the fall sports season. Cross country is long distance running. Cross country courses are on natural surfaces such as grass or trails and can go through wooded areas, fields and hilly terrain. Race courses are generally 5 kilometers long. Participants compete as individuals and as a team based on times. There are approximately 10 individual meets and invitationals during the season followed by the sectional qualifying meet toward the State championship. The team can dress up to 12 runners (varsity) for the tournaments (sectionals, regionals, semi-state, state) Participants are selected to compete at the JV or varsity level depending on performance and times at the most recent meets. Practices can include strength training, static and dynamic stretching, long runs, tempo runs, fartlek and speed work.

Participants are selected to compete at the JV or varsity level depending on skill and performance. The teams practice 6 days a week. Practices can include running, endurance building exercises, weight training, technical skill or tactical training. The regular season begins mid-August and finishes late September with an average of 16 varsity games and 14 JV games. Post season play for the varsity team begins in early October with the sectional qualifying tournament toward the State finals.

The Lake Central High School girls’ soccer team competes in the fall sports season. Soccer is a team sport. The team competes at a varsity and JV level. Participants are selected to compete at the JV or varsity level depending on skill and performance. The teams practice 6 days a week. Practices can include running, endurance building exercises, weight training, technical skill or tactical training. The regular season begins mid-August and finishes late September with an average of 16 varsity games and 14 JV games. Post season play for the varsity team begins in early October with the sectional qualifying tournament toward the State Finals.

Schedule
The Lake Central High School boys’ tennis team competes in the fall sports season. Skills which must be used are: forehand, backhand, overhead, volley, and serve. When competing in a match, there are two games played: a singles (an opponent from each team competing against each other) and doubles (two opponents from each team competing against each other). Tennis has two levels of play, varsity and JV. Varsity is the top seven players based on challenge matches and ranking. JV is the second seven players. Their schedule consists of matches and tournaments. Approximately 20 individual matches are played by varsity and JV. The varsity post season tournament begins at the end of September. The teams practice 6 days a week. Practice includes game play, drills, running, footwork, strength training, and challenge matches.

Schedule
The Lake Central High School’s girls’ golf team competes during the fall sports season. There is a varsity and JV team. There are 18 meets before the State tournament series. They play against each team once during their season. They host an invitational each season and play in approximately 7-8 invitationals elsewhere. The teams practice and host their home meets at Palmira Golf course.

The Lake Central High School girls’ volleyball team competes in the fall sports season. Lake Central High School has a freshmen, JV and varsity team. The regular season begins in mid-August and concludes mid-October with an average of 30 games per team. Post season play for the varsity team begins in late October with a sectional tournament and concludes in the beginning of November with the State finals.
