The Lake Central High School boys’ tennis team competes in the fall sports season. Skills which must be used are: forehand, backhand, overhead, volley, and serve. When competing in a match, there are two games played: a singles (an opponent from each team competing against each other) and doubles (two opponents from each team competing against each other). Tennis has two levels of play, varsity and JV. Varsity is the top seven players based on challenge matches and ranking. JV is the second seven players. Their schedule consists of matches and tournaments. Approximately 20 individual matches are played by varsity and JV. The varsity post season tournament begins at the end of September. The teams practice 6 days a week. Practice includes game play, drills, running, footwork, strength training, and challenge matches.
